It’s interesting when all of our employees’ backgrounds come together:
- Most of us have family who also work in health care.
- More than half of us have been happily employed by Armada for five-plus years.
- We like beer.
- We’re all using our college majors, be it journalism, public relations or marketing.
- And, geez, there are a lot of Texans!
Aye, Aye Captain
Jim Koehler is the Captain of this ship and serves as President and Creative Director. Jim joined the agency in 1988 and took over as company president in 1990. He is the agency’s chief strategist and architect of many successful marketing campaigns. For nearly two decades, he has worked with the agency’s health care-related clients, creating strategic marketing plans, writing brochure and ad copy and advising them on a variety of marketing and publicity issues. Jim has also volunteered his time and marketing expertise to the American Cancer Society, Boulder County and Rocky Mountain chapters. Jim has a degree in marketing from the University of Rhode Island. He’s also our in-house bar and restaurant guide!
Jessica Black is Armada’s most recent recruit. As a Senior Account Manager on the Account Services team, she manages medical device and health care system clients. A graduate of Texas Tech University, Jessica has more than 12 years of experience in marketing and advertising. She has proven skills in branding and lead-generation and earned experience at several top health care institutions such as Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center and Covenant Health System in Lubbock, Texas. A boomerang resident (Colorado to Texas and back), Jessica has a 6-year-old son who keeps her on her toes and in ski boots in Winter Park often.
Brooke Bloomfield has a long history with Armada and has the unique perspective of working in nearly all departments. Beginning with New Business, Brooke then moved into PR as an Account Manager and last fall was promoted to a Project Manager on the Account Services team. She serves clients in the medical device and testing industries. A graduate of Colorado State University in journalism/public relations, Brooke previously worked at the now defunct Schenkein public relations agency. She enjoys camping, being outdoors with her dog Sheridan and being the life of the party!
Jennifer Crump-Bertram has been with Amada for eight years and serves diagnostic imaging companies and health care system clients as a Senior Account Manager. Jennifer is a Colorado native who earned a business major with a marketing emphasis and minored in Spanish at the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley. She operates as many clients’ out-of-office marketing director and often travels to promote Armada at radiology conferences. Jennifer’s husband is a teacher and they enjoy the Colorado outdoors with their two children. You’re likely to catch Jenn at a cooking class, demo or fair — she’s a foodie!
Matt Kramer is a New York native and public relations graduate of Rowan University in Glassboro, NJ. Matt double-timed work and school during his tenure at Armada and successfully earned a MBA from the University of Colorado-Denver. He is an Account Manager and works with clients in the medical device and testing industries. Matt’s wife also works in health care — as a pharmacist — and coming soon for the two: parenthood!
Julie Schlegelmilch, CBC, Director of Client Services, oversees the management of all of the agency’s medical clients. As a Certified Business Communicator (CBC), Julie leads the account management team in project planning, budgeting, logistics, project management and overall account service. She has been an instrumental driving force behind the agency’s successful marketing campaigns, creating the overall campaign infrastructure to satisfy the client’s marketing objectives, then overseeing the successful completion of individual strategies and tactics on a daily basis. With a background in integrated marketing communications and project management, Julie has a degree in public relations from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Her goal is working to saturate Armada with as many Texans as possible!
Sally Stowell began her time with Armada as a PR Assistant and quickly learned how fun the culture was. So we put the CU journalism major to work and she gained full-time employment—every college grad’s dream. Last fall Sally was promoted to Project Manager. She provides excellent account service to our medical device and health care system clients. Sally is a Colorado native (rare here) and is engaged to an engineer who is also a Golden volunteer firefighter.
Creative & Production Team

An accomplished fine artist, her visual acuity and keen sense of style has helped to elevate the agency’s work to new levels. At Armada, Julz has created brand identities, marketing collateral, advertising campaigns, direct marketing, product packaging and more. She is proficient in all areas of print production and has the ability to adapt a single design to numerous applications. She attended the Community College of Denver and has completed specialized and advanced training courses at other Colorado universities. Julz and her daughter Willow live in the neighborhood and take advantage of the mountains, hot springs and “off the grid” areas of Colorado.
Joshua Harrison leads the Production Department for Armada Medical Marketing — making sure each cog and sprocket turns accordingly. Joshua oversees all agency print and web production, as well as quality control. A graduate of Texas Tech University with a degree in graphic design, he is famous for bringing in home-cooked lunches including made-from-scratch tortillas from his grandmother’s recipe. Joshua’s wife is also in the medical industry and works at the Children’s Hospital.
Nick Mastin is our newest addition to the Art Department. Serving as Production Coordinator, Nick utilizes various talents in all areas of production. With a knack for detail and “what fits,” he is able to pre-press files in a flash. His specialty is working in Photoshop and creating the best image possible from what has been provided. He has even been “caught” whitening someone’s teeth without asking! In his off time, Nick enjoys building computers and staying on top of the latest gadgets. Nick’s other half, Chelsea, also works in the health care field, specializing in vision at Denver Health.
Micki Sievwright is Armada’s Senior Public Relations Account Manager and Director of Social Media.
